Nestled amongst volcanos and lakes, the Chimaltenango region of Guatemala is a rich landscape of abundant untapped potential. But access to education and opportunity—especially for girls—continues to be a challenge.
Girl in the Village is built around the idea that in every village, there is a girl who with the right support can open that door for others around her—and generations to come.
This vision brings together the strength and resources of Colegio Mesoamericano/Meso Foundation, a breakthrough generational community school based in Chimaltenango, with a plan to scout and develop a growing cohort of girls emerging as leaders and creators in the surrounding rural areas around the school—and beyond.
