The baobab is an essential part of Botswana—and they need our help.
Across Botswana, sacred and iconic baobabs (mowanas) are falling under the impact of elephant overfeeding. Led by Tebogo Monnaaphuthego, a group of native Botswanans are responding. Using his one-of-a-kind organic paste, they are pasting at-risk baobab trees across the Okavango Delta region while keeping the elephants safe at the same time.
Local schools and villagers across the region are getting involved, learning how to prepare and apply the paste and spreading the effort among supporters of all ages.
And each of us can directly be a part of the effort.
