After witnessing the devastating impact of elephant overfeeding on the ancient baobabs throughout the Okavango Delta, Tebogo Monnaaphutego developed and tested a breakthrough organic paste (rooted in his indigenous background) that protects the trees to heal without harming the elephants.
As he pasted at-risk trees and got local villagers involved across the Delta region, Tebogo also created a one-of-a-kind safari excursion immersing visitors in the world of the sacred baobab, the work to protect them and its essential part in both the landscape and culture of Botswana.
Now, both guests and safari operators can connect in a whole new impact travel experience, led by native Botswanans and with all proceeds going to directly protect at-risk trees.
