PANGEA Week

Team Name/Location

Snow College International Club, Ephraim, UT

There is a small town in Utah called Ephraim, in it you will find Snow College, the home of the badgers. This an amazing place with breathtaking views, crazy traditions, and the kindest people you will ever meet. However, it is not perfect, Snow College has a lot of diversity considering its demographics. With diversity we find a common problem: separation. We feel comfortable with groups that makes us feel safe and at home, that does not mean we should close our minds and hearts to what is “different”. As the international club we notice how as internationals we would stick together as a family, and then the poly club would do the same, so as Black Student Union, LGBTQIA+, Latinos in Action, and so many more. At the end of the day each club had the same goal: to be seen as who we are. We were all trying to make it in separates ways, but never tried to do it together. We joined forces, call up a club meeting with more than 12 club presidents or representatives to do something about it, and that is how PANGEA Week was born. The goal was to work together with the clubs to bring awareness, respect, love, and fun to the students of Snow College.

What I like:
I love soccer and how being outside makes me feel free. When I’m in the field, nothing matter is just me, my team, the ball, and one goal. In addition to that, I also enjoy talking in public. I am not a very social person but I love sharing my ideas, and because of that, I have found great joy in speaking in front of an audience and having the challenge of showing how the things that I am saying matter.
What I Do:
Video Editing: I have learn throughput the years to to edit videos with programs such as Adrobe Premiere Pro. Teaching: I am not a teacher, but with years of tutoring, and with some experience as a young teacher I have learn a set of skills such as communication, team work, time-managemet, etc.
What I Want:
I want Snow College students to embrace their differences, and then love each other despite them. We are all different in many ways, and we should be proud of that, but it should not stop us from seeing the person behind them. At the end of the day, we are all human, sons and daughters, college students, badgers, and we only have one another.
