2nd Trimester _ Grace Herman

December 2nd, 2019

Next trimester I want to further my CAS experience beyond Terraza. Terraza has been a hard project for me because even though I love the town of Tamarindo and want the youth around me to have a place it is not truly what I am passionate about.

I am passionate about theater. For as long as I can remember I have loved being on stage and performing and now I want to share this with the La Paz Community.

There has never been theater for High School students. And as high school students, we no longer want to do theater with the 3rd grades so we stop. Last year I did a semester in the U.S. so I could be a part of a high school theater production and it was amazing. I went to the extreme, moving to another country to do theater. So now, since I’m that devoted I want to take my love and my determination to create theater here.

I’m excited about this project, but also I am scared. If this project fails it will mean so much more to me than if Terraza fails. For this project, I have to put my all into it, which is scary but exciting and what my CAS experience has been missing. Nevertheless, I am wary that I won’t have enough people or that people won’t trust me, and 11th grader to direct a show or that they wouldn’t have fun and everyone would be embarrassed to be in the show.

But for now this is my plan:

  • I am picking a short play to direct. This will be done over break.
  • I will find people who are interested and try to fit there schedule.
  • I will plan, direct, and mostly have fun, because I love theater and I just want to share my passion with others.

Thank you for reading,

Grace
