Amanda- Journal Entry August 17th, 2020

The day of the deliveries finally came and I knew it was going to be a long and exhausting day so I made sure to wake up early. Since 130 churros were already frozen in the freezer my mom and I started making a new batch and started frying them. At around 10 am I made sure to keep in contact with Cindy and checked up on each other to see how we were doing. She was going to deliver from Potrero to Brasilito meanwhile I was doing the deliveries from Matapalo to Tamarindo. The churro making was getting slowed down because of the thickness of the batter that was too thick for the pastry bag that kept slipping open. We ended up putting several pastry bags into another so they wouldn't open and we were able to make the shape of the churros. Due to time constraints, the churros made at my house were not filled with syrup but it was rather put on top with some little edible colorful balls and sugar with cinnamon. Although the churros look too dark they are made like that on purpose so they are completely cooked and aren't raw on the inside. At 2 pm with over 170 churros made, because I decided to make extras in case people wanted to buy more than what they ordered, I started doing the deliveries starting in Huacas. After Huacas, I went to Matapalo and next to Villareal and Tamarindo. It was challenging because I didn't know most of the people that ordered so I had to keep in touch with them to make sure we can meet up in a common area for the delivery. I asked every customer if they wanted to buy more and luckily some said yes. To make sure I sold all of the extra bags I went inside some shops and offered churros to which some said yes and others didn't buy. At around 3:40 I was done delivering all of my orders and checked in with Cindy to make sure everything was going well in the Flamingo area and if she needed extra churros that I had some. At night we had a call to count the revenue made that day and in total it was around 105,000 colones on our first day of sales.
