Amanda- Journal Entry February 14th

The day before Valentine's day my mom and I took a one hour ride to Nicoya in order to pick up the roses that were going to be spread out on Friday. When I got home I cut the thorns to make sure they were safe for our customers. Later that night I wrapped up the cookies that came with the rose. When the morning finally came I was very excited to finally spread out the candy gram and be able to sleep correctly since I have been pulling all-nighters since Monday of that week in order to get all of the orders ready. The day was more challenging than I thought it was going to be, lots of sacrifices were done. Nicolle, Cindy and I ended up missing three periods because there were so many orders that needed to be delivered that we ended up needing more time for that. It was a very stressful day, we needed to get so many things done with little time and trying our best to please our customers and teachers. That wasn't possible since some teachers got angry at us for missing their classes and even some of the Tenorio teachers were upset. I got an angry text from a mom the night the deliveries were made demanding an explanation of why I didn't take her order of candy grams and making me responsible for the sadness of her two daughters after not receiving one. I had to explain to her I couldn't take her order since it was very large and we didn't have the material as well as explaining that I'm just an IB student fundraising for a project and that I had other responsibilities apart from the candy grams. Since I believe in good customer service I decided to make a deal with her to sell her cookies that were going to be spread out with the last few deliveries to the absent people. This fundraising was mentally and physically challenging but thankfully I learned many things from it, however, I wouldn't do it again.
