Amanda- Remote Learning Human Resource Project Reflection April 30th 2020

This week I have been working on this human resource remote learning project a lot. I put my effort and energy into making sure I will make a successful and engaging activity for any of Mr. Kevin’s class. This has made me change my understanding of the process in different ways. I used to belive that the series of activities leading up to the end goal should be completely planned beforehand and that plan should maintain the same. After a week of planning for this job, I realized how the original plan is in constant change, and as I got new ideas or realized my old ones were more difficult to do through online classes that I needed to resort to more flexible work structures. Now I know that process is a versatile and flexible action.

A human resource manager can check if the candidates are able to be innovative yet flexible by asking them to pick between different methods of planning and the reason why they chose it. This will evaluate their ability to take into consideration the culture of the company, effective management skills, and even good communication when creating an activity for the employees. This manager can prepare for increases in hiring by making sure the eligible candidates fit well with the culture inside the company and be prepared for longer induction training since the number of new employees is higher. The way it can plan for the decreases in hiring is by taking into account that they can hire the best of the candidate pool since only a few spots are required. This makes the requirements for the job more demanding so it can weed out the non-eligible candidates.

Overall, this project has made me realize how hard having a job can be. The more I planned and as complications started to happen I got very desperate in order to find a quick solution. I quickly got stressed out and started wondering that if I was getting worked up over a project for my business class then how would I handle it if my economic income depended on the effectiveness of my planning. With this in my head, I came to the conclusion that what is key for the success of human resource activities is not how quickly you can come up with a solution for the obstacles but rather how effective is that solution is. It challenges me to think smarter rather quickly and irrationally.
