CAS Video Elements

Why does the story of your CAS project need to be told? The story of our CAS project needs to be told in order to show others the importance of art in our community and the role it plays on younger kids. Performing arts such as dance allow people to express themselves in a way that they can’t do otherwise. Without the addition of art, our community would not be the same, which is why it is extremely important to reopen the arts and share them with others. EMOTION The emotion in our video will change throughout the course of the video. - The opening section will convey a more depressed and gloomy feeling to the audience through darker tones and empty cities and community areas. - The second section will hopefully create a more joyous and happy emotion in the audience. This will be achieved through a lighter and sunnier tone in the videos, friends interacting again, laughter, and dancing. AUDIO The audio will play an important role in order to execute the emotion we desire to transmit. During the section of the video that is a little more downhearted, the music will resemble that emotion through a sadder and slower beat and rhythm. However, when our video begins to pick up and reaches its peak the music will change to a more heartwarming and cheerful sound. - Additionally, we wanted to incorporate the sound of a door unlocking to symbolize the world reopening, allowing dance and performance art to be presented once again. EVENTS AND MOMENTS - Through a combination of multiple aspects, especially events and movements our CAS video tells a story. Our story focuses on visual and performing arts being shut down due to the global pandemic. - The opening of our video will show the world in lockdown. This can be in the form of empty roads, cities, buildings..etc. Then we wanted to incorporate a video of an empty theater to showcase and symbolize performances being shut down. - After a few more empty and lonely videos, we wanted to show the world opening up again. There will be videos of our recital, our studio training, and girls interacting to show our goal of bringing back the arts to our community and allowing people to express themselves once again. CHARACTERS The characters in our video will most likely be the girls we have been working with during our CAS experience and our dance teammates because they are the ones who have supported us through this process and have experienced the same things we have regarding our studio closing along with our community.
