Change of Keys

I learned that in a song you can choose to start off with one key (example: Key of C -do-) and can decide to change the key of the song to another similar one that won’t make the song sound bad (in this example: Key of Am -La minor-). This is very interesting because it can give you more resources at the time of making a song.
