Core Values

What are the core values that you have that inspired you to start your CAS project? Name them and explain how they connect to your project.

The main core value that inspired me to create my cas project was passion, skateboarding and art have always been things I love to do and I consider them passions. My cas project has taught me and encourages me to love my passions even more and to create a stronger relationship.

How has your culture affected your project? Explain how it shapes your decisions and drives your behavior through this CAS experience.

The main reason culture has changed my project has been because of the language we speak, in the skateboarding community the main language is Spanish and that’s the language my culture has taught me. Being able to speak two languages has expanded my knowledge and sources of new information, this way I am able to communicate with more skaters. In my culture, we were always taught to be open-minded and to accept. One of my friends once told me a suggestion to make one design in big this way I can customize more skateboards in less time.

Have your values ever been challenged by your project? If so, how?

My core value passion has been challenged to the point where I stop skating for a couple of weeks, but that’s when another core value helped me, and that’s commitment. This core value has taught me to stay on task and focus on my project.

You are the manager of your project. How have you kept yourself motivated throughout your experience?

The main reason I’m motivated to do this project is that I spend a lot of time in the skatepark and I get to see the problem I’m facing up. That feeling you get when receiving a new skateboard is unforgettable and I want to pass that feeling to the kids in my community.
