Covid-19

1. What is the meaning of CAS to you? Why is it something that is required by the IB and the MEP? Why did you choose to do your project? What resources are available to help you succeed?

Cas in my opinion is the act of helping your community out by doing things that benefits others. It’s required by IB and MEP because you need to have community service hours. I choose my project because I get the chance to make other kids in my community happy by providing them skateboards. Some resources are my family my friends and teachers because they are willing to help me meet my goal!

2. How has CAS changed because of COVID? Or has it? Have the community’s needs changed? If so, how? If not, explain

Many cas projects are ruined by COVID due to the fact that in cas normally you need to interact with the people of your community and people nowadays are living with fear and stay home.

3. Evaluate the project that you are doing. Talk about it with your group. Have your group give you feedback and insight. Does it still make sense now? If not, why? Is so, how?

My group gave me feedback on what I can do in the meantime to improve my cas project, they said to start recollecting old skateboards and start painting them so when COVID is over I can be 100% ready to start interacting with my community.

4. What are the first steps? How are you going to show progress by next week? How will you go to manage my time?

My next step is to start talking to some friends that skate and ask them for some old skateboard donations so I can start painting them.

5. How can you make the time that you are doing CAS, time that is not in front of a screen? Is that possible with your project? Is there something that you can create without much screen time? And how do we document it?

My project doesn’t involve screen time since I will be painting all the time!
