CREART Fest is a site specific dance festival organized and choreographed by our class, the second year contemporary dancers and performed by the first year dancers. It was held on the 14th and 15th of march and was open to the local community as well as artists from the school and family/friends. This festival was a huge stepping stone to Lab26 as it was our first chance to organize an event on such a large scale. It allowed us to understand what things needed to be improved in our efforts for Lab26 and also showed us that we are capable of coming together as a group and creating something truly incredible. It allowed us to connect as a group and connect with the other dancers at our school creating a stronger bond and environment as we take on our next challenges.

The event was amazing! This really showed the dedication of the class to manage a large project. The creativity, collaboration and perseverance showed on both days. The choreography was unique and different and it drew the audience into the experience on so many levels. The organization was impeccable and while it was challenging to move people around in small groups, it went off without a hitch! And even with rain on the first day, the dancers made the best of it and utilized the rain to their benefit. Success!
