Creative Field Trip Journal Entry

What connections did I find with areas outside of Guanacaste? The art piece I worked on was from a 12th grader named Stephannie, her work was based on a story about a woman who was found washed up on shore who had died and was thought to have been killed and violated, since they never found out who may have done it, it was left unsolved and nobody got punished. This isn't an uncommon occurrence in the world and I thought it was a very influential and powerful piece. What were my perceptions of the project when I started? I thought it was a really interesting idea and as our art teacher had mentioned, it was kind of like a silent protest for all women who have gone through this and not received the justice they deserved. What was the value of the project? How did it affect others? I think this project was a very valuable experience, it kind of served as a reminder of hey this can happen anywhere. It was also nice that we got to participate in the silent protest. What can I do to continue to bring change to the world in the future? I think change is super important, but most people are not too fond of it. Change means we don’t know what is going to happen next. I want to do whatever I can to help bring change into the world, whether that be helping others with a set goal, or creating my own. With my CAS project I want to bring change in people's attitudes and behaviour towards neurodivergent folks. My partner and I are creating an informative presentation for my classmates to help them gain a deeper understanding of it which will in turn hopefully have them change the way they speak and think of neurodivergent people.
