Some ways we’ve explored and extended our ideas which have lead to an original performance was by being more creative not solely with our events but finding ways to improve our marketing strategies, and this break was the perfect opportunity to extend our creativity and prove that terraza is worth it! We decided to make our flyers a lot more attractive, so because it was christmas, we decided to strategise and market towards our demographic which are teenagers. Make our flyers a lot more colourful, and christmas themed to get teenagers more than just excited which is what we learned from our previous event, which was the dodgeball tournament. Our flyer for the dodgeball tournament was very colourful, the colours popped and attracted a lot of teenagers. As well as on social media, due to the fact that social media and technology is growing day by day it’s important to realize that teenagers are always on social media, so taking into consideration all of our demographics whether or not these teenagers have phones or not, marketing on social platforms and through flyers that are found in all different communities is something that we want to focus on in order to improve not only our marketing plan but have more people show up to these events. Another creative extensive plan that we have been working on is changing our space of our youth center. Due to the fact that our opening hours which are only twice a week for 4 hours total, additionally, with at least two events per month does not equal out the fact that we are paying a lot more than we should be. So we have recognized this but have never taken action or have a creative alternative that would work effectively. We then visited a space before break located behind Sharkys, and realized it was perfect for what we stand for and will be a lot less expensive then where terraza is currently. We then visualized what the space was going to turn out to be. There is an outside area which will be divided into 2 parts which is perfect for a basketball court and a capture the flag field. There is then another space that will be closed up, which will be costly however will contain air conditioning which is something that our area currently has struggled with due to the fact that we have no AC, and it tends to get really hot when competitive games are organized. Once these teenagers have finished playing there games outside, they can go into the air conditioned room and lay down on the bean bags and watch a movie. Or students can come and study in this room, which will be set on days specifically for studying because students won’t be able to study with a lot of noise. These are some of the ideas that we have come up with when we visited the area, and we fell in love with the space instantly due to the size and the energy that we felt when we visited the space. Hopefully, we go through with this idea because currently we are paying a lot more than we’re supposed to. This has allowed me to recognize the priorities and how to manage a business efficiently, specially when we are on a budget, as well as due to the fact that we are being sponsored. I have recognized the importance of being realistic and understanding the reality of how the space that we currently have might not be the best option for Terraza or our team as of now.
