Update: Final entry of 11th
Final entry of 11th
This year I think my biggest challenge this year was definitively choosing and then starting to make significant progress with my project. This challenge was mostly at the beginning of the year when I was changing my project a lot. The way that I overcame this challenge was with help from Alex, she suggested that I reach out to Sio and see if he had any advice for me. After talking to him for a while on the phone I had a very good feeling about working with him more and reached out to set up an in person meeting. My greatest tangible success this year has been the 10k views my project has received on TikTok along with the publicizing of my fundraiser, which I imagine will be my biggest success by the end of my project. I think I will be in a very sustainable place shortly into next year and am going to want to find other ways to accelerate my project or other service and community aspects that I can incorporate. This photo came from the finca in Avellanas and at first I thought it was a biodigester and enthusiastic young explained to Alex and my mom how it worked. I opened the top to get a better look and realized it was just a water tank. This is a very accurate representation of how my year in CAS has been because of all the uncertainty and last minuet or sudden change. Similar to the water storage which is likely more important to the finca than a biodigester would have been I am much more confident in my projects ability to help make a difference than I was with my initial assumptions of how it would be.
