Final Reflection

This project has thought me many things and helped me grow as a student and person. I feel proud of my engagement with an issue of global significance, which also connects to me and my life. The research I had to do in the beginning of the project and the connections that it had with my biology and business internal assessments have thought me about the global impact of this issue and gave me new perspectives. This is not an easy issue to solve, and I've seen that it is a massive challenge even for governments and multinational companies to engage with the issue. This makes me proud of thinking that I could put all of my effort, and although what I did is extremely little compared with the size of the issue, I feel that I was able to inspire others. I was able to inspire people in my local community by organizing clean-ups, students in my school with my workshops, farmers with my project in Puntarenas, and hopefully more people. This project has massively improved my organization and communication skills, and make me a committed and perseverant student and person. I managed to make connections outside of my country, as the person I stayed with in my exchange in Italy 2 years ago had a similar project there. We exchanged ideas and advice, and by looking at her project's social media pages I learned more about what I could do with my project. This was another way in which I could see this same issue in other parts of the world and understand the importance of working with it.
