Focus Training Day 1

May 10th, 2020,

Doing school at home requires a lot of concentration and focus and that is hard. In an attempt to improve my focus I read an article about ways to practice focusing and will be doing the exercises for the rest of the week recording my progress.

Today at 11:30 I decided I would practice focusing by working on memorization. I decided to memorize the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. I pick this exercise because I enjoy memorization, especially something poetic that you can technically perform. It has a little element of theater to it.

I worked on the first stanza today. It was cool as I repeated it I was able to notice the rhythmic element Frost used in the writing of this poem.

So for today, I have memorized:

Two roads diverged in a yellow road,

And sorry I could not travel both

And to be one traveler long I stood

And looked one down as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

I’ll keep you updated.

Thanks for reading,

Grace.
