Giving away skateboards

This weekend I’m going to be donating a skateboard to a kid in my community. MJ is a kid from the Philippians and he is 12 years old. MJ spends most of his time at the skatepark where he enjoys playing basketball and skateboarding, after spending some time at the skatepark I realized that he is always asking people for a skateboard because he doesn’t own one yet. MJ goes to a non-certificated school five times a week and every day after finishing his work goes direct to the skatepark to spend quality time with his friends. I chose to give MJ a skateboard because he represents one of the IB learner profiles which is a communicator. MJ uses communication because he solves challenges by meeting people and asking for help, before I met him he asked me if he could use my skateboard, and that’s why communication is key to solving problems.
