Gratitude Entry

"When we fail to acknowledge or dismiss the contributions of others, regardless how big or small, we miss an opportunity to strengthen the core of our community; the value of what people bring to the organization." - Jimmy Casas. This quote shows the importance of being grateful and appreciate the help from others to continue receiving help. This project has had successful progress which has been made with help of many people. First of all, Connect Ocean has been very important for the project as they provided us with a crucial support at the beggining by helping us organize the first clean-up in October. Thanks to them, the clean-up was very successful and we got valuable knowledge on how to organize these events. They were an inspiration for us to keep organizing clean-ups that have made me proud due to the amount of waste collected. Nick and Alex have also been a huge inspiration for us. In the last few months they have started to work with us and have provided us with great ideas and progress for the installation of trash bins in Potrero. They indirectly inspired us to have the idea of bringing back the recycling program to the school as we were thinking of ways to donate plastic to them. Most importantly, they invited us to an important event in Santa Cruz where our project could have inspired people of all ages, unfortunately a school trip prevented us from this amazing opportunity. It makes me proud to see the new ideas and progress that our project has made, and although we are in charge of managing our project, other people have an important influence and support that we don't always acknowledge. We are thankful with everyone that helps or influence us in any way. This shows the importance of working collaboratively as collaboration with others is always useful for success and can be very helpful to show improvements, shown in our project by the growth that we have due to help from others.
