House Journal Entry

Coping:

What is something you’ve been putting off doing that you now suddenly have time for?

I’ve mostly been trying to do things that are good for my well-being like finally cleaning my room and trying to be more active.

What shows/movies have been helping you cope during this time?

I’ve been trying to find new shows to watch over break but I haven’t really found anything that I’ve stuck to yet.

What is one small thing you are doing to bring a little joy or comfort into your day?

Even though I’m stuck at my house and I can’t go hang out with my friends like I planned to, I still try to find a way to talk to them everyday. Sometimes I can Skype or FaceTime them but if I don’t get the chance I text them. This really helps me because it lets me communicate with them and feels a bit more like I’m still hanging out with them like I usually do.

Work:

How do you stay focused when studying from home?

I usually try to work in somewhere other than my room if I can help it because I can focus better if I’m somewhere different than I normally am. It’s the closest I can get to having to do work at school so it helps me.

What is the most hilarious thing you’ve seen that distracted you from studying? Tell me about it or link it here. Why was it funny to you?

Since I’m on a different schedule than the rest of my friends, they usually end up texting me while I’m working. One of my friends in the states always sends me memes so those end up being the most distracting but also funny.

If you had a mantra right now, what would it be? Why?

I think it would probably be something like “Good things come to those who wait” because even though I’m stuck in my house and super bored, it isn’t going to last forever and if we all stay in our houses until things get resolved, it’ll be worth it.

Connection:

Who do you see most now?

My parents. That’s really about it.

What is the most annoying thing about that person?

To be honest I’m pretty lucky to have parents that aren’t that annoying (please don’t tell my mom that or she’ll definitely change that), but it would be really nice to see someone in person who is under 20.

What do you love about being stuck with that person/people?

My parents are pretty nice and good people to be around, and even if they are really tired of having me in their house they aren’t showing it yet so I appreciate that.
