How Do We Get to Bloukrans Klein-Bewarea in the Karoo and Why Here?

One thing I've learned about travelling in Africa is that while distances between destinations can be great, the dirt roads that connect them can magnify the distance.  To access the amazing Bloukrans Klein-Bewarea guest farm is a 5+ hour drive from Cape Town. South Africans do it all the time and we can too. But out of interest we  looked into the fastest option (a helicopter  which would only be a one hour trip and we could land right on the farm.

  • A small plane would be only mildly less expensive and then a require rental vehicle to transport us from a distant airstrip to the farm.
• So in the spirit of overland adventure and a great opportunity to get to know and learn from Jenny on the drive, I'm getting quotes for a 4x4 vehicle that seats 7 people.
  • Looks like a Toyota Ventura 4x4 vehicle can hold all of us, and is the best option for this part of the trip!
