I’ll be cynical. For me, this project is a great way to show that I care about the environment, a value that’s really characteristic of the youth today. Honestly, when talking about the project, there’s a few aspects I can capitalize on to gain the interviewer’s approval.
The first is to really focus on the hard-labor part of the project. This shows a display of perseverance, responsibility and initiative, which especially for jobs is highly sought after.
The second is to show my empathy, which here applies for the environment but extends to people, of course. It shows key values that anyone who is working for a customer needs to have.
The values displayed here are a way of “showing, not telling”, and without it making it seem like I’m advertising myself (even though I am, that’s kinda the point of an interview). But anyways, this project will certainly be a valuable tool to help me stand out from the sea of people applying to colleges and jobs. Thanks, IB!
