HR Project Reflection #7

This week was more of understanding the differences of leadership and management and the theory that our group was assigned to, both by using the show Brooklyn 99 as a guide. I think this show was very effective to connect this week’s content as it includes plenty of examples about leadership and management, and from the little I’ve seen, also about Charles Handy’s theory. Apart from getting good examples and really helping me understand the difference between leadership and management, I enjoyed the episodes I watched and I will continue watching it. The video about leadership and management also helped me to see the small differences that both concepts have and this helps me look at how these motivational theories that I’ve been learning all these weeks, can be used to motivate employees with management and with leadership differently. In the organization part of my project, I’ve been communicating with the person in charge of the CEPIA food donation program. I wasn’t able to attend this week’s event but hopefully I can help out next Thursday when they receive the food and then Friday when they deliver it. I also finished the google forms questionnaire with questions related to some of the motivational theories, which I will send to the employees of the organization tomorrow. I am looking forward to see how they motivate themselves or how they do to stay motivated with some other questions on this topic and see the connections with the theories. This will help me see the content I’ve learned so far through the lens of an organization and employees.
