Overall, I am glad that I switched my project to be helping my mom with her classes. Abriendo Mentes is very focused on helping to deliver food to families in need, and I want to make sure that they are able to prioritize that right now. In relation to Adam’s theory of equity, the main output in this project for me is a sense of achievement. I think that it’s very fulfilling to be able to make my mom’s job a little bit easier on her, especially during this time. Knowing that I am helping her and her coworkers are is enough of an output for me because I know how busy she always is and I’m glad I can help her out a bit. This project also helped me to grow and develop as a learner because I was able to get a look into other perspectives, such as my mom, the other PreK teachers, and the students. Understanding what they have to do in their jobs every day was eye-opening and it gave me more respect for my teachers and all the work that they put in for us. I think that this knowledge of how they do their job will also help me in the future with my CAS project, as seeing how they teach can inspire me for working with the kids at Abriendo Mentes. Learning this reassures me that this project does help me in relation to my CAS project, but in a different way than I previously thought.
