HR Project Week 2 Reflection

Another week into the HR project and I keep progressing. This week allowed me to understand my project better and organize what I was going to do with my organization, understand negative feelings and how to combat them, and keep learning business content and vocabulary. Interviewing my mentor really helped me understand what the organization needed at the moment and how I could help, as well as understanding how employees could feel and be impacted in the current crisis. This required me to be a thinker, to analyze the issue that the organization is facing and think about viable solutions or how I can act to help and support them. This was a way to understand the importance of communication and how it may be used to find solutions.

Choosing my organization for the project definitely made me a risk taker. I could have done a La Paz class and taught something I know well and help teachers and students I know. However, I decided to take the risk of helping a company with issues that I am not very knowledgeable of and with people that I do not know well. This is helping me grow as a student and a person, as I am learning much more and better by doing this, and applying what I am learning into a real company.

A crucial part of this project is learning the business content and vocabulary. It is actually the whole point of the project. This is why it is crucial to take my time in these steps and make sure I am understanding everything. By understanding the content, I can finish the assignments in a more effective manner. An unexpected event was actually helpful to understand communication and problem solving in a real life situation. This was a way to show a principled side and act with morality doing what is right. It was an opportunity to be honest and give feedback to improve communication and understand the project better. In general, this week was crucial for understanding, planning, and organizing the project and organization. It allowed me to understand what I will do next to start teaching and training as soon as I can.
