HR Project Week 4 Reflection

This was a week with not a lot of assignments due to the study time that we had for bachi. However, this week I was able to learn a lot on Daniel Pink’s Theory of Motivation, as well as brainstorming on how I can do a mini presentation to the organization’s employees on motivation. To do this, I was brainstorming on how to connect everything I have learned so far on human resources to the organization and what the employees are currently working on. My objective with this is to see how motivated they are and connect them to what I have learned that the company needs and how they can help with that. This week’s content really made me grow and gain much more knowledge on theories of motivation. It allowed me to take a look at motivation in relation to rewards and how incentives actually decrease performance, as well as learn about extrinsic rewards and intrinsic rewards. I could understand it much better with the questions that connected it to a classroom, as I saw it from my perspective as a student in how I work and am motivated by a reward which is good grades rather than for me to feel personally rewarded by learning. By looking at this better from my perspective, I can see it more clearly on how it happens on a business and with employees. In general, although there was not much work this week, I learned and grew a lot about this, and it allowed me to keep getting great ideas on presenting to the employees. I also started thinking about promotion of the organization in the local communities and how I could help them with this.
