June 2nd

This week I focused on using the meditation technique to try and increase my focus while in online school. I spent fifteen minutes every day meditating and it was surprisingly nice. I’ve always meditated, but never on a schedule. Last week I meditated every night before I went to sleep. It calmed me down a lot and was very relaxing. It is helping me during online classes a lot because I am able to take a time away from all electronics and just be with myself. It lets me clear my mind and not worry about school or CAS or anything else. This week for CAS I actually had to make a hard decision. I have a pregnant cat that lives outside and I had to make the decision to abort her kittens and get her spayed or let her have her kittens. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I decided in the end it would be healthier for her to get them aborted. Since she is so young she probably would have had trouble with the birth and I am not able to make sure she keeps the kittens safe. Meditating helped me not think about that which was a nice break.

This week I have been helping Barbara with her spay and neuter clinic. I sent out a flyer about the clinic on the La Paz newsletter so hopefully she will have even more people coming to the clinic. I unfortunately can not go to the clinic, but my sister is helping out. She wants to take over my project when I graduate which is super cool. She will be helping out by bringing my two outdoor cats to the clinic and then she will help Barbara with whatever she needs help with. Online learning hasn’t been much of a challenge with CAS for me. I am lucky that a lot of my CAS project is me doing things outside of school. Actually, I was able to foster two puppies last week which is much easier to do when I am doing virtual school. It was a super fun experience and it helped Barbara a lot. I am hoping that I will be able to foster more puppies soon.
