What CAS means to me it’s that it is an opportunity for us students who are very fortunate to give to people who are less fortunate than us. Not only to the less fortunate but to everyone who is having some sort of hard time in life. For me it is an opportunity to put a smile on peoples faces and make sure everyone has fun. I think the reason the IB and the MEP required a class like CAS, is because it is a good way to show students how to implement change and how to help your community with even the smallest things. Some resources which can help me succeed is the support system I have like my family and friends. I know that if I’m struggling, these are the people that I will be able to turn to for help and that is the biggest thing that can help me succeed.
CAS has changed a lot during covid, business started closing, crowded events were banned, traveling became impossible and fundraising because all this just became null. This put a big pause on CAS projects and forced a lot of people to switch projects. The community’s needs have changed a lot too, the needs are much more financial now because of covid but we can see this as an opportunity to demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance like poverty or even COVID-19. My project can be a big financial help to the community as I plan to give the money I make from the fundraisers to charities who actually help poverty, kids in need, etc…
Through this project I will be able to give the community a fun sports tournament which we haven’t had in a while, put a smile on the face of some of the people in the community and be able to give back to the less fortunate during these hard times. If I show to be an inquirer and caring I will be able to start during the summer laying down groundwork, scheduling, making a checklist and maybe even start sending emails.
