This month I have completed so much for my CAS project. One of my biggest goals that I completed was starting to foster animals for Barbara and her shelter. Right now I am fostering a puppy named penelope. I have to give her extra medical help and she requires a lot of attention. This is not only a huge step to advance how I help my community, but also a huge advancement in how both Barbara and my parents trust me. Barbara doesn’t let a lot of people foster her animals so letting me foster a puppy shows that she trusts me enough to let me, a teenager, take care of one of her dogs. It also shows how my parents trust me more because at the beginning of my CAS project they barely let me take care of my outdoor cats I adopted. Now they trust me enough to keep a puppy in my room and care for her all by myself. It is a huge advancement from where I was when I first started and I am so proud of what I have done. My goal is to continue fostering puppies that require extra medical care that Barbara has trouble giving while also watching her other hundred animals.
