May 20: Description of my CAS Project

My CAS Project consists of volunteering for the organization Abriendo Mentes. This group provides innovative education and community development programs to children and adults living in rural and underserved areas in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I work with the teachers at Abriendo Mentes to help provide English and computer classes to young children, while at the same time empowering them to be the most hardworking, dedicated people they can be. This project is important to me because children in the Guanacaste area often only receive 3 hours of education a day, meaning that they miss out on very important learning experiences. I want to make sure this changes, and I think this is a very good place to start.
