Mentor Journal Entry

September 16th, 2021

What is your objective of the project? Do you need to explain what a CAS project is?
The objective of my project is to create a fun event where people can compete with each other through the sport of ping pong and come together to raise as much money for charity and other CAS projects as possible. When I find the right person to be my mentor through this project I plan to explain to them what CAS is based on if they know what it is or not. If they don’t know I will give them a detailed explanation of what CAS is so we can move forward together with the ping pong tournament and future projects to come. If he does know I won’t try to go into too much detail but I will be there to answer any questions they have about the program.

How are you going to communicate with them? Email, interview, WhatsApp?
When I find the right person I will try to communicate with them through any channel that’s available to them, whether it’s through phone calls, emails, WhatsApp, face-to-face encounters, whatever suits them best.

What are you planning on asking them?
The first thing I plan on asking my mentor is two things. 1- how can I make this event as successful as I can with the time span that I have? and 2- do you think I can pull this off successfully?. In the long run, I plan on asking them more direct questions, like tips for event planning or tips to keep a balanced life with the workload.

What are the expectations?
My expectations I believe are balanced, I don’t expect them to be there for me 24/7 and call me to check up on me every day or things like that but I do expect them to be there when I need help or when I have questions.
