Momentum

In order to gain momentum this week and then continue to increase it I can use strategies like finding a mentor who is two steps ahead. So far there are two such people, Kalos from earth university and Sio from ”Costa Rica Regenerativa”. At the moment Sio is the main person I am planning to work with, we are going to work on the gardens and do any maintenance that is currently needed in the next week. Another way to get momentum is to “forget about your purpose”. This seems a little counterintuitive but the point is to forget about the long-term goals and just focus on what needs to be done in order to complete them. For me, this means to focus on each individual step and worry less about the cumulative effect. One challenge has been communicating because of internet issues. Ways that I have been able to get over this are risk management to plan for challenges, and at times just being patient.

The thing that makes Sio such a great mentor for me is because I can relate to him. His organization, Costa Rica Regenerativo, is super cool and is doing a lot of great things in Costa Rica. Sio is a great teacher and I found it really easy to both talk to him and learn from him. He is very well connected within the organization and plays an important role and the head of agriculture for Guanacaste. I am able to help him with funding and by spreading the message that he is working to promote.
