Update: Motivation and Time
Motivation and Time
What are you going to do this week to move your project forward and how much time will you dedicate to it? This week I plan to start the process of planning and organizing my first investment conference and get a concrete list of people coming to my math help club. The development of this budgeting conference has me in a position currently where I feel helpless or I can't do anything. I am currently dependent on Allan to find a time during the day or after school to meet and devise the plan. Although as I said I am dependent on Allan's ability to meet, he is the finance director at La Paz, meaning he has the knowledge I need but has not the time to meet. This makes it really difficult for me to progress, therefore this week before next Wednesday I plan to have a meeting with him for even just a small period of time to lay out the next steps forward. Therefore we are on the same page and as he figures out the content necessary I can focus on the logistics and finding ways to make the conference fun and engaging. By logistics I mean the marketing side of the conference. I need to reach a broad audience and would therefore call on announcements, emails, putting it on families of La Paz and in the weekly newsletter. Therefore for this week I plant on creating a plan with Allan to bring the process in motion. This would mean that for this part of the project I would only work from 1-2 hours, meeting with Allan and then start working on the planning process. I am really looking forward to working together with Allan because I know he is an expert and I can gain knowledge and experience from working with a budgeting veteran. The next half of this project comes with my math tutoring project, this week is really dependent on me gathering participants, currently I only have 1 and unfortunately I cannot just wait to see who shows up but instead I have to create a concrete list for the operations team. This requires me to work about 30mins gathering this information throughout the week and then actually following through and having my first lesson of the project that would last about 1hr. These projects are both in stages where I all can do is work as hard as I can to gain participants then wait, and finally start getting into a routine and having consistent lessons or activities with others.
