Night Of the Arts

What is your CAS project and how is it helping the community? Our CAS project focuses on helping create a way for our dance community to perform as we have not had a chance to during covid. It is also giving us as artists a chance to choreograph and create something that will impact our community and the audience. Lastly we will be able to make funds to help our studio get better floors, more space, fund competition or scholarship dancers, etc. What are some interesting aspects of your project that you think people should know about? One interesting aspect of our project is that we are choreographing pieces for the show ourselves and it is a 360 dance experience meaning the stages are positioned around the audience and they will be able to see dancing from all angles. What do you need from the community? From our community we need support by them going to the show, helping promote the show, and buying tickets for the show. The show is Saturday December 4th the first half is from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and the second half is 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Discuss 7 learning outcomes of CAS that are applicable to show the value of your project. Our project connects to the first learning outcome of CAS that demonstrates that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. We have shown this because in the beginning we had a totally different view of our project of helping scholarship kids, to making our own show. But what we ended up doing was the perfect choice for us at this moment and we were able to strengthen our communication skills as we are working very closely with our mentor. We also have applied the fifth learning outcome of demonstrating skills and recognising the benefits of working collaboratively. Each of us have done our equal part in making this project happen and we even choreographed a piece together collaboratively. Lastly the learning outcome of engaging with issues of global significance has been recognized because the arts have suffered around the world during covid, with the restrictions of live shows and more. This has happened especially in our community which is why we wanted to be a part of bringing a show to our community and impacting them even through these crazy times.
