I am a feminist. Not those that believe womens must have more power than men in order to be equal. I am the type that believes that we should be treated equally no matter our gender. Today is the international women’s day. This day was chosen to march for women’s rights and commemorate all the women that have been killed for no reason by a man.
We heard there was going to be a protest in a town close to our school, so all the women in our class decided to protest with them. All the men in the classes supported our idea and went with us. We walked from an NGO located in the town to the main road. There were many people there chanting and protesting all together. Afterwards we received a talk about the importance of respect and the importance of protesting about issues like this one. As a woman I am always scared of walking by myself anytime and I shouldn’t be. Unfortunately, we live in a world where being a woman is more of a punishment. This makes me sad and angry at the same time, which is why we went protesting and I will continue protesting until this issue is resolved.
