Planning for our meeting tomorrow – Feb. 4th

Tomorrow we have a meeting at my house and it might be the only meeting for the month of Feb. as I am going to Spain for 2 weeks and then the boys are going to ski in Utah the last week of Feb. We will reconvene in March. I am a little worried about loosing the momentum but also am excited to spend time in Spain.

We will start with a reflection of the Pawsitive Strides Event. The questions are as follows:

What did I learn from this activity, and how can I use that learning in my life (at school, at home, or in future projects)?

Did I surprise myself, inspire myself, or disappoint myself during this experience? What moments made me feel that way?

What value did this activity create for me, my family, and my community? What would I do differently next time to increase that value?

Next on the docket is to teach them about fixed costs and variable costs so that we can go over Profit and Loss Statements for the first time.

Variable costs are costs that change with the amount of sales - this includes things like raw materials, commissions earned by sales people, packaging costs that are related to output and hourly wages of production staff.

Fixed costs are costs that don't change with the amount of sales - this includes things like rent, insurance payments, salaries, advertising costs.

Next we will understand the format of a profit and loss statement as you can see from above and do a worksheet that I am copying here.

After that we will have a discussion about our next event which is on Saturday. We are thinking of having a pickleball event at Las Catalinas from 8-11. We need to market it, decide what is needed and schedule the morning, and we need to create a budget using the money that we have from our last event.

I look forward to our meeting tomorrow!
