Throughout this summer I plan to have a variety of different activities that connect to CAS. My goal for my garden project is to promote it to friends and family within my community as well as make a longer and more in-depth video so that anyone can listen to my ‘presentation’. For creativity, I will be working on this presentation as well as keeping the Go-Fund-Me updated with photos from Sio which he is happy to share with me. For activity, I will be running/coaching a lacrosse camp for elementary school kids in Brookline grades 3-7. For service, I will be volunteering at a food pantry in my town, on Sundays they are asking for Spanish-speaking volunteers to sit at the front and help Spanish-speaking people who come to get food. This correlates very well with what I have been doing here in Costa Rica because I am going to be able to use and practice my Spanish when I otherwise would lose a lot of it over the summer. Further, it relates directly to my garden project because I am still trying to provide a healthy source of food to less fortunate people who would otherwise be going hungry or eating the cheapest junk food they can get. The goal that I set was to give Mr. Abel a reason to write me a letter of recommendation but because my project is not directly related to or affected by the school it will likely not be the primary reason but it will certainly play a role. So far I do not see one specific thing that I did that would accomplish this but I do believe that I have made significant progress and that it is a realistic and achievable goal.
