With my Cas project, I hope to raise awareness in my surrounding community about the impact our diet can have on the environment as climate change becomes a more pressing issue, and the mistreatment animals face in these industries. I also want to be able to have an actual impact on these animals’ lives and help change this culture of animal mistreatment where their lives aren’t valued and many times only used for security that I have seen growing up in this area. For my project to be sustainable, I want to collaborate with local businesses and organizations working towards the same goals as me and provide them with financial help. This is an issue that I’ve always cared about deeply and as I’ve grown older and more informed I see the importance of taking action. Cas has given me the opportunity to do this and I think for me my biggest motivation will be when I get to actually help these animals and see the impact that this project is going to have on their lives. This is something that is extremely important to me so It honestly doesn’t feel like work and like someone is making me do this but more of an outlet to allow me to create change and use what I know. I always set really high goals which push me and allows me to always do my best. Personally, if I’m working on something that I’m passionate about and have a genuine interest in it’s very easy to work on it for hours, additionally being a perfectionist I always push myself to finish tasks and do it to my best ability. I think this project will give me an opportunity to grow and develop many important skills for my future, it will give me a really good foundation for what I want to study and also allow me to explore more the different areas surrounding this issue. It’s gonna allow me to better decide what I want to focus on throughout my life. There’s the side that involves working with the animals, and then there’s the more informational and organizational side to my project. This is something even though here it’s very generalized that I’m not completely sure on but throughout the two years I will hopefully be able to find my path while leaving an impact in my community.
