Which quote resonates with your reasoning for choosing your CAS project? Explain
Quote #1:
“Life begins
AT THE END
of your
COMFORT ZONE”
This quote resonates the most to me in the beginning because I knew that I was going to have to put extra effort into this project since it was something that I had never done and didn’t have any experience with (ex: the planning, the organization, getting my message out there, etc). Another reason why this quote represents my thoughts and feelings towards the project at the start of the journey, is that I wanted to take this challenge with something that I like to do, in this case sports, but more specifically tennis. This quote connects to my project because through the process of accomplishing my goal (of the tournament) I came to realize that constant communication is key when working with others this closely, and that you have to learn to differentiate between your relationships when working with each other.
Which quote resonates with you now that you have undertaken some aspects of your
CAS project? Explain
Quote #2:
“Act as if
what you do
makes a difference.
IT DOES” -William James
This second quote resonates with me now that I’m done with the tournament because I realized that all the effort that I put into this project has actually made it be this successful and helped me reach above my expectations of how everything was going to turn out. This quote has a meaningful connection with me and my project because I have seen throughout this process and all of the time and effort spent has made me reach the main goal of getting sponsorship for two kids two play tennis at Marvista. The quote proves that everything you do makes a difference, which is what I did.
How do you feel about the class at this moment? Explain
I feel pretty good about CAS class, but I do feel like it would be helpful to have more class time during the week to work.
Do the quotes inspire you to do things differently? Why or why not?
The quotes inspire me to always do my best and put my effort into things that I like to do, and to not give up even though there could be harder moments in the process of the project. It is important to overcome the obstacles that get in the way and not getting discouraged or stuck on that one problem, because it could bring your project down.
