Report on First Training Session

Report on Wild Bee Ranger Training of February 2025

My goal is to train Nazeer to become the first wild bee ranger in the world. Nazeer possesses a unique ability to track wild honey bee colonies. Having a staff member with such a rare skill allows De Hoop Collection to offer an unparalleled experience to international guests.

As the only wild bee conservationist in the world, I recognised the significance of finding someone like Nazeer. His skill in tracking wild bee colonies is uncommon, and I believe he has the potential to make a remarkable impact.

To ensure Nazeer’s success, I’ve carefully crafted a training program that aligns with his learning style. He learns best by observing and absorbing information. In my first session with Nazeer, I presented him with a comprehensive presentation on various behavioural aspects observed in wild honeybee colonies. This presentation serves as a reference point for the rest of his training. It’s crucial that Nazeer understands the behaviour of bees in their natural habitat.

Currently, we are actively mapping wild honeybee colonies. This process is essential for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the honeybee population. Typically, it takes time to map colonies, and the only way to do so is to locate them by tracking their flight paths.
