When lifting it is important to let your muscles rest. This is because when they rest it allows them to repair and grow bigger.
I enjoy lifting and rest day always makes me feel guilty as if I am being lazy when in reality its the complete opposite; and im not trying to overtrain.
Rest days should happen once a week usually but at times its hard for me to put apart my favorite part of the day.
Recently I had a teammate that complained about the rest day. He told me that we should just lift. It was hard for me to disagree with him but I told him the importance of resting.
As Ive grown as a trainer and someone that lifts I am now cautious of resting as I now the benefits and necessity it brings.
