Role in the Community through Uncertainty

Throughout the whole process we are going through with corona virus it has been difficult to adjust. Not only for myself, my hobbies and school but also my CAS project with my upcoming tournament.

My role in the community is to bring energy, empowerment and effort into what I would say is a more laid back and relaxed community. Through my CAS project I empower local basketball, motivating others to continue to play, and through my 3v3 tournaments I bring energy to a fun, healthy event that people are exited for every trimester.

Postponing my event because of the Corona Virus was difficult but understandable as there is no sports without health. And even though it is annoying the health of everyone comes first

An online presence and staying connected with my teammates allows our already divided community to come together even if it isnt to the same extent as seeing and hooping with people.

Furthermore, for myself something that allows me to stay connected is playing basketball and many people are fortunate enough to have a court at/near their house. This allows me to distract myself and also stay connected with basketball as a whole while staying out of contact from the virus. Being at home is a little slow and boring, basketball is an easy distraction and grounds me back to earth even if it is just shooting hoops for a bit.

I am a compassionate, energetic and motivated person, Currently, I feel like my personality type does not add value as much as others. I am very energetic and sitting at home for so long bothers me and it isnt how I would spend my days. However, at the same time I feel like I can motivate people and let them know that we will bounce back better than ever.

Yes, the process of adjustment with corona virus has and will be difficult for myself and others. That is why this week I will be a positive and energetic person in my online classes. I will help anyone with questions they ask, and I will make sure to continue to play basketball even though it is difficult without a gym in order to keep myself leveled and able to focus in class.
