SANParks Asks For Help with Managed Bee/Penguin Challenge

The African or Cape penguin is extremely endangered. SANParks erroneously thought they were supporting Penguins by providing nesting boxes. These boxes resemble hive boxes and managed bees (not wild bees) come to nest in them. This has resulted in penguin fatalities from bee stings when the Penguins attempt to nest. This is a vivid example of non-convivial conservation efforts. Jenny was contacted by SANParks to assist.
