Update: Service Break Journal Entry
Service Break Journal Entry
As days go by and Covid-19 continues to be an issue in the country, I’ve been noticing another serious problem which is harmful for the environment and a health hazard for us human beings. I have seen a large amount of face masks in the ground, especially around sidewalks, roads, or fields. People are not being conscious about the harm that can be created by doing dropping their used mask anywhere. This is not only harmful for the environment and creates a dirty image but it is also a health hazard as it could pass the virus to other people. I decided to take action on this, especially as it relates to my CAS project and I created a simple poster that could easily pop out for people to see it. It reminds people of the importance of placing their used masks in a trash bin for everyone’s safety. I printed a couple of them, laminated them in plastic and placed some in bus stops and near supermarkets around Potrero. Hopefully this small service can make people conscious of this issue and reduce the amount of masks ending up in the ground.
