Update: Service: New Years trash collection
Service: New Years trash collection
New Year's Eve fills up local beaches with people who want to celebrate the holiday by enjoying the firework shows at midnight. It's common for people to bring food, drinks =, fireworks and other objects that may generate trash, and as the beaches get packed with people, it is harder for them to find a trash bin. This year instead of only watching the fireworks show, some classmates and I brought plastic trash bins with us to walk around the beach collecting trash and asking people to place their trash in them instead of leaving it in the beach. People seemed surprised and grateful for the service that we were providing and helped us out by throwing away all of their waste. This shows our commitment and perseverance to CAS as we committed to our project and even if it was a holiday we went to Flamingo Beach not only to enjoy it, but also to help the environment and progress with our project.
