Sewing CAS project log 1

For my CAS project I plan on teaching women the basics of sewing and how to sew simple items that they would be able to sell. My vision for this is to try to help people in poverty and give them a way to make money. I think sewing is a great skill to have and it’s awesome because you can sell what you make once you get better at it. This project is important to me personally because I love sewing and it’s a great way to pass time and work on being patient and careful. It allows me to express myself creatively and it has earned me some money every now and then. I hope that I can inspire and teach these women to love sewing like my mom did for me. I think this project will help me in my self confidence and teaching skills. I also think I’ll strengthen my leadership skills and improve both my fluidity and confidence in speaking Spanish. I think this experience would definitely help me if I were trying to get a job or go to a university because since I want to pursue a career in either historical fashion or costume/clothing design, this experience would be really good on part of my resume. It shows my experience with sewing and that I am good at working with others on a project. I think it would help prove I am a good fit for that career path.
