It has been 7 weeks! So much of my project has happened so fast, the beginning of the trimester started off slow, but now the Feria is picking up speed as we get closer to our start date of Nov. 3! We’ve held two meetings with all the parent volunteers, and there is constant communication on our whatsapp group chats. I have defined my role as overseeing most of the marketing, on Facebook, Instagram, the newsletter, etc… I am also in charge of figuring out the signage for the bus stop. We are trying to incorporate a permanent sign onto the side of the bus stop, which is super exciting. I have set up meetings for today with both Andrea, and Mr. Abel today to go over marketing strategies and more details to get the sign under construction. My gantt chart is a little outdated, because I didn’t plan the schedule further than mid October which is right now! I planned the Feria start date much sooner than it could have happened, but everything else, the covid protocols, vendors and logistics has gone according to plan! I am super proud of all the work the whole Feria team has been putting in because the level of enthusiasm and proactiveness has been so amazing. The Feria is really a never ending project and there is always work to be done. I am proud of how we’ve been able to work together as a team and so ready for the first Feria to start. Things we could have done better or could have improved on would have been organizing our meetings quicker and more consistently so that we could have had even more time to plan and more organization in our groups. In the future, and especially once the Feria gets going for real, our communication as a team will get better and the ability for us to have a smooth weekly Feria will only improve!
