Summer involvement with CAS – Catalina

19/8/2019 ACTIVITY One of my goals for the summer of 2019 was to be physically more active and to gain more self-confidence. Throughout the summer, I decided to join a new gym that has classes from Monday to Friday at 7:30 am. It is a functional gym where the workout is intense. I decided to wake up early every day to be able to go to the gym and be more active in the morning instead of sleeping in and being lazy all day. During vacations, I wanted to have a healthier lifestyle by being more active and eating healthier. I enjoyed constantly working out and incorporating it into my everyday life. At the end of summer, I was able to see the results of the hard work I put into the gym and because of that, now I feel more powerful and more confident in my body. I used to be a person that worked out like 2 times a week and now that I am more active 5 times a week I feel more different and happier and proud of myself. During all these weeks, I learned the real definition of what consistency is and the consequences in your body. Because I was determined and consistent when going to the gym, I find myself to be a stronger and more positive person. This is a trait that I was able to develop as the days went by, before this summer, I never really took time out of my day for myself and I wasn't consistent with the things I liked to do. I enjoy myself when I go to the gym and now I find myself to be a more consistent person. It was a really hard experience because some days I felt like giving up and not going to the gym anymore because I didn't see the results, however, I was also able to understand that things do take time and that giving up sometimes is not an option. Throughout this summer, I was able to understand what having a healthy lifestyle means and the effects in your body and attitude. Identify strengths and areas for growth, challenges were undertaken showing that new skills are learned
