Summer Journal Entries

Activity This summer I decided to start playing basketball again because there wasn't very much opportunity here in flamingo but luckily my former coach and current PE teacher for La Paz invited me to play for the Nicoya Basketball Team. I was excited to play for this team because it has been a little while since I've played for an actual team and had the opportunity to play in real games. Luckily My first game back was against Liberia which happens to be Luca’s team. As you can see from the photo above, apparently I've still got it. I've been playing for this team for about a month now and I have been forced to improve my Spanish a lot and work hard to improve my skills, both good things that I've needed to improve. I would connect this activity to Learning outcome #1 because while playing on this team I have learned what I am good at and what I need to improve to get better. Our most recent practice has shown me that I really need to start working out my legs more because not even a 20 minute workout had me dead. The Ib learner profile trait that I would connect this to is Risk Takers because It's a big jump going from not playing any basketball to playing on a team 2 hours away and I have no idea who anyone on this team is.
